This document has not finished review and is not final. We would rather publish it in the state it is in than show you nothing until launch, so this is the working text — read it as our intent, and expect the wording to change before it binds anyone. If something in it matters to a decision you are about to make, ask us first: support@rebetchi.com. The reviewed acceptable use policy will replace this page.
This acceptable use policy ("AUP") sets the rules for using Rebetchi's game-server hosting, Rebetchi Manage, and the Rebetchi Play player portal and mobile app (together, the "service"). It applies to server owners and to players, and it is part of our terms of service. Sean As A Service, LLC, doing business as Rebetchi ("Rebetchi", "we"), may update it as described in the terms.
1. The short version
Run your game server and your community; don't use our platform to break the law, harm people, or interfere with the platform or other customers.
2. Prohibited uses
You may not use the service to do any of the following.
Illegal content and activity
- Store, distribute, or transmit content that is illegal, or use the service in furtherance of any illegal activity.
- Infringe intellectual-property rights, including distributing pirated software or content.
Abuse and harassment
- Use community features — announcements, community portals, chat-adjacent features, invites, or any other communication surface — to harass, threaten, abuse, or defame others, or to distribute hateful content.
- Spam or send unsolicited bulk messages through community features.
Platform integrity
- Attempt to access other customers' instances, the host node, or any Rebetchi system or data you are not authorized to access.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service, or circumvent instance isolation, authentication, or usage limits.
- Interfere with the operation of the service or degrade it for others, including launching or facilitating denial-of-service attacks.
Misuse of resources
- Run cryptocurrency mining on game instances.
- Use instances for anything other than hosting the supported game and its associated community features — for example, using them as general-purpose compute, proxies, or file-distribution servers.
Cheating services
- Sell or resell cheating services, or use the service to operate, distribute, or promote cheats, exploits, or tools designed to give unfair advantage in games or to disrupt other people's game experience.
3. Server owners are responsible for their communities
If you operate a server, you are responsible for your community and its content. That includes content posted through your community portal and announcements, how you use player-management tools, and the conduct you allow on your server. "My players did it" does not excuse a violation on your instance: moderate your community, and act on abuse reports about it.
4. Enforcement
- We may suspend an instance or account that violates this AUP. For serious or repeated violations, or where required by law, we may terminate service.
- Where reasonable, we will notify you of a violation and give you a chance to fix it before or alongside enforcement. For violations that create legal exposure, harm others, or threaten the platform, we may suspend first and notify after.
- Data retention after termination follows the schedule in the terms of service.
- We may report unlawful activity to law enforcement where appropriate.
5. Reporting abuse
To report a violation of this AUP, contact support@rebetchi.com with the server or community involved and a description of the issue. We review reports and act as this policy describes.
